Maria Dodson

I really enjoy writing short stories. I love old buildings and finding out who lived there and what they did, and what happened to them. I love researching and visiting libraries. I was fortunate to gain a place on a workshop run by the excellent John Goodrum, from Rumpus Theatre, together with DSW. From this workshop I wrote 'Brushing it Under the Carpet' and joined DSW shortly after. The group were very welcoming, friendly and encouraging. Writing is often a solitary past-time, so having monthly meetings and your work critiqued is motivating.

I attended a 'Writing For Radio' Workshop run by the talented Sophie Sparham and am currently working on a radio piece 'Home Grown' as well as a shorter version of 'Brushing it Under the carpet.'
