Wild Orchid Theatre returns with its annual playwriting competition to find new scripts to stage in its forthcoming December production, Yuletide Tales in the Kiln.
Celebrating new dramatic writing, Wild Orchid showcases the work of writers and actors and, performing in non-traditional spaces, brings theatre to audiences. Scripts should be no longer than 15 minutes and require a maximum of four actors. Writers should live or work in the Midlands. For further details please email: info@wildorchidtheatre.co.uk
Winning plays will be performed script-in-hand on Saturday 11th December 2010 in the kiln hovel at Sharpe's Pottery Museum, Swadlincote, South Derbyshire.
Pomegranate Theatre New Playwriting Festival 2011:
Scripts can be in any style, be fact-based or fictional, and should be between 30 and 45 minutes in length. All pieces should be designed to be performed at The Pomegranate Theatre in a studio-style setting
Scripts should be for no more than 4 professional actors
There is a £5 fee for entering
Closing date is 30th September 2010. Successful entrants will be notified by 30th October 2010
£500 prize for the overall winner and the possibility of a professional commission for a new full-length piece of work
